Mood reference.
Execution reference.
3.1 Pacing
Hook references को hook type से tag करें: visual surprise, motion-into-frame, voiceover statement, on-screen text reveal, character expression, music drop, या sound design hit।
3.3 Transition
Match cut, speed ramp, jump cut, whip pan, masking, cross-dissolve into close-up, smash cut to silence।
3.4 Camera movement
Push-in, dolly-out, whip, handheld follow, locked-off static, drone reveal, gimbal walk-and-talk।
3.5 Typography
On-screen text — title cards, lower thirds, animated text, kinetic type, caption-style text। Typography references में tool या template known हो तो include होना चाहिए (After Effects preset, CapCut auto-caption, Premiere essential graphics, custom)।
3.6 Sound design
3.7 Production level
Hand-held एक-व्यक्ति shoot? दो-camera multi-day?
3.8 Client objective
Editor reference set working tool है।
Practical client board structure:
Section 1 — Tone references.
Section 2 — Visual direction.
Section 3 — Pacing direction. “Edit ऐसे breathe करेगा।” 1-2 full sequences (single shots नहीं) जो target cut rhythm दिखाते हैं।
Section 4 — Anti-references.
Section 5 — Open questions.
क्या: Basketball player की jump पर slow-motion ramp, 12 frames के लिए peak hold, landing पर normal speed में cut back।
Time per annotation: 60-90 सेकंड। Editing के दौरान saved time: 5-15 मिनट per reference। Math overwhelming है।
Client board references के लिए, तीसरे sentence (“how to apply”) को client-facing version से replace करें: “हमारे project के लिए इसका मतलब: [specific direction]।”
All references के लिए single folder। Consistent filename prefixes वाला flat folder भी (tx_match_cut_geo_match_4f.mp4) no structure से ज़्यादा useful है।
आपका scrubbing time नहीं।
Pinterest visual mood capture के लिए great है, video execution references के लिए terrible (no frame stepping, no sound)। Right tool for right reference type।
References editing technique से tagged हैं (transition type, pacing, hook structure, production level, orientation, sound design presence, tutorial availability)।
- mood reference set के लिए Pinterest, Behance, या Are.na use करें — cross-medium visual capture में वे ShotBook से strong हैं।
